A group of Jewish settlers attacked on Friday evening Palestinian farmers while picking their olives in the “Al-Qusayr” area in Battir town, west of Bethlehem in the West Bank.

Local sources reported that the settlers stormed the area under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces and amid heavy fire of sound and teargas bombs.

Several Palestinian farmers were injured during the attack, while four others were detained.

The Palestinian olive pickers were forced to leave their land at gunpoint under the pretext of the presence of solidarity activists and media outlets.

A similar settler attack was also carried out in Hizma town, northeast of Occupied Jerusalem.

Local sources reported that settlers from the “Adam” illegal settlement attacked the Abu Hilu family while they were picking olives in the eastern area of the town, and forced them to leave their lands.

Such attacks by Jewish settlers have been routinely reported in the occupied Palestinian territories, especially during the olive harvest season.
