The Director of Civil Defense in Gaza, Mahmoud Basal, said that the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) “threatened to target our crews if they moved the ambulances in Gaza City.”
Basal said in a press release on Friday that civil defense services have been suspended since Wednesday evening, “after the IOF arrested five of our crews, wounded three others, and targeted our only firefighting vehicle.”
He warned of a real catastrophe in the city, affecting thousands of Palestinians due to suspended ambulance services.
Addressing the international community, Basal said, “The last call … we are being slaughtered.”
He pointed out that the IOF is completely besieging hospitals, leaving no other choice for the trapped people in the war-torn Gaza but to except death any time.
