The Detainees and Ex-detainees Affairs Commission said the total up-to-date number of female detainees in Israeli occupation jails has reached 95 women held under harsh detention conditions.
The Commission said in a statement on Sunday that the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) has been tightening the detention conditions of Palestinian prisoners since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023.
It added that the IOA deliberately imposes additional retaliatory penalties on the detainees by depriving them of the least human rights such as having adequate quantities of food and clothes and by completely isolating them in cells, while subjecting them to inhumane treatment, beating, and repression, the last of which was storming several sections in Al-Damon prison, and abusing the detained women in it on October 27, 2024.
The Commission explained that its lawyer managed to visit three of the detained women, noting that there are three others held in isolation cells including the Palestinian MP Khaleda Jarrar.
