The Hamas Movement has called on the Palestinian citizens in the occupied West Bank to escalate the confrontation with extremist Jewish settlers and pool their efforts to repel settler attacks on homes, towns, villages and lands.
In a statement on Saturday, senior Hamas official Abdul-Rahman Shadeed applauded the residents of Beit Furik town in eastern Nablus for courageously confronting a horde of settlers who attacked their homes and property on Saturday morning.
Shadeed stressed the need to stand united against settlers’ growing crimes and thwart the schemes of the extremist Israeli government that seeks to displace the Palestinians and expel them from their lands and areas, especially those close to settlements.
“The escalating attacks that are carried out by settler militias in the West Bank are part of the genocide and massacres that our people are facing in all areas of their presence and part of the Judaization and extermination approach adopted by the occupation government in order to execute its annexation plan,” the Hamas official said.
He stressed that the government-backed attacks of extremist settlers would never force the Palestinian people to “give up or leave their land and rights, but rather such crimes would increase their steadfastness and perseverance and make them more determined to uphold the option of resistance.”
He called on the Palestinian factions, groups and all those carrying weapons in the West Bank to ward off settlers’ terrorist attacks and join forces to defend their people, land and holy sites.
