Israeli occupation forces (IOF) continued besieging the village of Al-Mughair, east of Ramallah, for the second consecutive day Monday carrying out raids on Palestinians’ homes in the village and subjecting its young men to field investigations.
According to local sources, the IOF has been invading the village since late Saturday evening, carrying out field investigation with a number of its young men, and detaining a number of them for long hours under cold weather.
The sources said that schooling has been suspended in the village for the second day in light of the ongoing siege, as the IOF deployed more military reinforcements in the village.
During the IOF military operation in the village, one citizen, Ihab Abu Alia, was arrested and nine others were detained for hours before being released later.
Israeli troops also seized the house of Wahid Abu Naim, turned it into a military barracks and raised the Israeli flag on its rooftop.
The IOF had previously confiscated about 720 dunums of the village’s lands and built a military point on it. The village is surrounded by several settlements established over the lands of neighboring villages such as Turmusayya, Jaloud, and Duma, in which fanatic settlers had burned alive the Palestinian Dawabsha family.
