The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that WHO evacuated on Wednesday 11 Palestinian children in need for cancer treatment along with 20 companions from the Gaza Strip to Jordan.
Ghebreyesus added that they demanded that all corridors should be used to ensure safe transfer of the patients outside the Gaza Strip, stressing that “peace is the best treatment.”
Earlier in November, the UN organization evacuated 17 sick people including six with cancer from the Gaza Strip for receiving treatment abroad, noting that at least 12,000 sick and wounded in the Strip need urgent evacuation.
