Fatah calls on its armed wing not to retaliate to Israeli crimes

Monday 23-April-2007

GAZA (PIC)– Fatah on Sunday called on its armed wing the Aqsa Martyrs Brigades to exercise restraint and “not to respond” to the IOF crimes which killed nine Palestinians mostly AMB members.

The Fatah spokesman Jamal Nazzal warned the AMB against the Israeli schemes aiming to foil the European tour of PA chief Mahmoud Abbas.

He opined that the new Palestinian discourse that emerged after the Makkah agreement had disturbed Israel especially when it gained approval in Europe. Israel was thus trying to lure Palestinian armed attacks to abort this new drive he elaborated.

The AMB in the Nablus city had vowed to retaliate to the repeated Zionist occupation crimes and said it was no longer committed to the calm with Israel.

In a later development Sunday evening a group affiliated with the AMB declared responsibility for firing at and seriously wounding an Israeli settler north of occupied Jerusalem.
