The Hamas Movement said the killing of the resistance fighter Abdurrahman Abu Muna at the hands of the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) security forces in Jenin on Monday is a serious escalation in chasing and persecuting the Palestinian resistance.
In a statement on Monday evening, Hamas mourned the martyr Abdurrahman and warned of “the dire consequences and impacts of the ongoing PA crimes on the Palestinian national and societal scene, especially that it is completely ignoring all national and popular calls and human rights demands to stop targeting our people and resistance fighters, and halt its operations that support the Israeli occupation’s security campaign against Jenin, which entered the 50th day in a row.”
Hamas called on all national factions as well as human rights and popular organizations in the West Bank to immediately intervene to pressure the PA to halt the bloodshed and crimes committed by its forces.
The resistance fighter, who was wanted for and chased by Israeli occupation forces, Abdurrahman Abu Muna, was martyred on Monday evening by the PA’s gunfire at the Al-Naseem roundabout in the city of Jenin.
Local sources and eyewitnesses reported that the PA’s security services opened fire on Abu Muna, kidnapped him and abused him after being injured in the head.
Later on, medical sources announced the martyrdom of Abu Muna because of his injury.
Shortly before that, the PA’s forces, in a civil car, arrested the young man Eqab Bani Odeh, for the third time from his café in the town of Tamoun, south of Tubas.
The PA’s violations in the West Bank are coinciding with the ongoing Israeli aggression against Jenin and its refugee camp for the 50th day in a row.
