BETHLEHEM (PIC)– Palestinian medical sources have affirmed that Palestinian child Haitham Ali Abu Mefreh 14 was in critical condition and went into coma after an Israeli settler shot him in the head in Takoo village east of Bethlehem city on Wednesday.
Palestinian citizen Esa Al-Shaer who witnessed the crime affirmed that the assailant stopped his car and shot at Palestinian children harvesting Almonds in the village’s farms before fleeing the place at high speed.
He described the settler as a young man wearing white shirt and black trousers and putting the Jewish skull cap.
He also affirmed that the incident was unprovoked as the children were busy collecting the crops with Abu Mefreh on top of the Almond trees in the farm before the settler shot him in the head.
An IOF spokesman alleged that the Israeli occupation police would investigate the incident after family of the victim filed a complaint against the criminal settler.
The incident wasn’t isolated as Palestinian citizens from the village are usually harassed by Israeli motorists frequenting the road which is adjacent to the Israeli Tekwa’a that was built on lands confiscated by the IOA from the village.
In Yasoof village east of West Bank city of Salfit two other Palestinian minors were shot and wounded with IOF troops bullets fired at Palestinian children hurling stones at Israeli soldiers who raided the town.
According to eyewitnesses three IOF military patrols stormed the village and randomly shot teargas canisters live bullets and sound bombs spurring Palestinian youths in the town to hurl stones at them.
Palestinian medical sources in Ramallah city hospital identified the two victims as Osama Nemr Abdul Razzak 17 and Yassin Ata Yassin 15 and described injuries of Abdul Razzak as “serious”; but affirmed that Yassin was lightly wounded.
