MP Baraka calls for unconditional release of all PA prisoners and officials

Wednesday 18-April-2007

TULKARM (PIC)– Mohamed Baraka the Arab MP in the Israeli parliament criticized on Tuesday the policy of the IOA in dealing with the Palestinian demands with regard to the final status solutions and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

Addressing a ceremony marking the Palestinian Prisoner’s Day organized by a committee of those prisoners’ relatives in Tulkarm city in the West Bank Baraka denounced the unjust Israeli practices against the Palestinian and Arab prisoners and deplored the Israeli holding of a number of ministers and MPs hostages in order to negotiate over them.

“The battle with the Israeli occupation is long for it is a human battle for freedom and against the humiliation inflicted on prisoners and their families on the roadblocks and checkpoints. It is a battle against depriving children of holding their loved ones’ hands and against depriving them of proper health treatment” the MP said.

He added “We recognise as Palestinians that the Israeli captive soldier in Gaza has a mother who is worried about her son but on the other hand we have thousands of Palestinian mothers who are deprived of sleep out of concern on their captured sons and they are even deprived of visiting their imprisoned sons and daughters.”

He finally called for the unconditional release of all Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli jails.
