DOHA (PIC)– Khaled Mishaal the political bureau chairman of Hamas has received a phone call from Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in which the latter praised the Palestinian resistance in face of the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip.
A statement for Hamas said that Zarif on Tuesday night phoned Mishaal and expressed his country’s backing for Palestinian resistance and for the Palestinian people and their steadfastness.
It quoted Mishaal as thanking Zarif for his country’s stand and adding that the Palestinian people were defending themselves in face of the Israeli war machine.
Mishaal added that the Palestinian people are adamant on repelling the Israeli aggression and breaking the siege on Gaza.
Relations between Iran and Hamas had faltered over the past few years due to discrepancies regarding the events in Syria.
