1000 Palestinian prisoners subjected to medical experiments against their will

GAZA (PIC)– About 1000 Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli jails have been subjected to medical experiments and tests performed by Israeli doctors inside the prison cells a recently published PLO report said.

The report by the PLO’s national and international relations department on the occasion of the Palestinian prisoner’s day on Tuesday further pointed to the presence of more than 1000 Palestinian patients inside occupation jails 150 of them are suffering from chronic diseases and 30 are permanently held in hospitals belonging to the Israeli prisons authority due to the seriousness of their cases.

11000 prisoners are held in Israeli prisons and detention camps including 110 women and girls 398 children and 850 administratively detained without charge or trial. Furthermore 64 prisoners have languished in occupation jails more than 20 years other than the incarceration of 41 elected MPs of the Legislative Council according to the report.

The report also pointed out that 15 Palestinian prisoners have spent more than five years in isolation cells while 187 prisoners were killed in prisons as a result of torture or lack of medical care.

The report confirmed that Israel had used arrests since the first day of its occupation in 1967 of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip as a mass punishment against the Palestinian people pointing out that more than 25% of the Palestinian people were locked up during separate intervals in the Israeli prisons.
