PA premier invited to attend fifth conference for Palestinians in Europe

ROTTERDAM (PIC)– PA premier Ismail Haneyya has been invited to be the main speaker at a the fifth conference for Palestinians in Europe in the Dutch city of Rotterdam on May 5th in a practical move on their part to break the siege imposed on the Palestinian people and its government.

The conference’s secretariat stated that Palestinian public figures including Islamic and Christian religious leaders would be also invited to participate in the conference that would be held under the slogan “One people and joint right  … in spite of pains and remoteness.”

The conference will host prominent Palestinian figures from inside and outside Europe including prominent figures from Palestine and the Netherlands in addition to intellectuals writers artists and others.

The organizers announced that the conference will include fresh quality activities and programs and it would be complementary to the successes achieved in previous conferences. It will also include political seminars debates workshops and other activities they added.

Furthermore five short documentary movies will be screened during the conference dealing with the issues of refugees Jerusalem prisoners settlements and the apartheid wall.

The Conference is anticipated to come out with a final document that reflects the Palestinians’ orientations in the European continent and their attitudes about a number of issues especially the issue of the right of return in addition to the issue of Europe-Palestinians’ participation in the Palestinian public and political activities and the rebuilding of the Palestine Liberation Organization.

For its part the Hebrew daily Yedioth Ahronoth claimed on Tuesday that the Dutch government had ruled out a visit by Haneyya saying he would not get a visa because the EU is boycotting Hamas.
