The Hamas Movement has called for urgent and serious international action to curb Israel’s “crimes of war and ethnic cleansing” against innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip, which continue to happen in full view of the entire world.
“A new brutal massacre has been committed by the terrorist occupation army, which bombed a large gathering of civilians at a restaurant in central Gaza City, killing and injuring dozens of people, including women and children,” Hamas said in a statement on Wednesday.
“The Israeli occupation army persists in its brutal aggression, deliberately targeting civilian gatherings — including shelters, displacement centers, and food distribution points — as part of its systematic war of extermination that aims to inflict the highest number of casualties among defenseless civilians and break our people’s will through killing, starvation and blockade,” Hamas added.
The Movement called on the world’s free people to step up their popular protests against Israel’s genocide and starvation campaign in Gaza, calling for Israeli leaders to be held accountable as war criminals at international courts.
At least 32 civilians were martyred and many others were injured on Wednesday in a horrifying massacre committed by the Israeli army, which bombed a restaurant and a busy marketplace in Gaza City’s al-Wahda street.
Palestinian activists shared harrowing footage and pictures on social media showing victims lying on the ground following the Israeli airstrike on the restaurant and the crowded street.
