NAZARETH (PIC)– IOF troops arrested a Hamas cell in Qalqilia city late last month alleging that they were planning to carry out a human-bombing operation during Passover a Jewish religious holiday Hebrew press reported on Tuesday.
The IOF soldiers detained 19 Palestinians in Qalqilia all alleged Hamas members who were planning the attack during the Jewish festivities the Hebrew daily Ha’aretz quoted a security source as saying.
The source said that one of the cell members was able to enter the city of Tel Aviv driving a car laden with about one hundred kilograms of explosives “but for yet unclear reasons he decided to drive back to Qalqilia prior to the implementation process and after leaving the vehicle in a backyard in Qalqilia it exploded without causing any casualties.
The Israeli radio said that the Palestinian held an Israeli ID card obtained in the process of family reunification (he is married to an Israeli Arab woman from Taibeh) which enabled him to move easily on his Israeli license-plated car from and into Qalqilia.
The IOA imposed a strict security blockade on the Palestinian territories in the West Bank and Gaza Strip about two weeks ago at the pretext of receiving a series of warnings about intentions of the resistance factions to carry out human-bombing operations to retaliate against the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinians.
