IOF beat up ambulance driver while on way to work

Monday 2-April-2007

JENIN (PIC)– The Palestinian medical relief society on Monday denounced the IOF troops’ battery of Fida Subuh an ambulance driver while carrying a medical team to work in a village in Jenin district.

The society’s statement said that the IOF soldiers intercepted its ambulance at a crossroad forced the driver out to the ground and severely beat him up. Subuh was injured in his head and face as a result of the assault it added.

A spokesman for the society said that the IOF troops’ assault on the medical team that was on its way to organize a free medical day in a Jenin village was a flagrant violation of all international norms and doctrines.

He charged that the assault reflected the occupation forces’ “arbitrary and inhuman” practices against Palestinians. He recalled that the assault was not the first of its kind by those forces against Palestinian medical teams in which a number of doctors and paramedics got killed.
