GAZA (PIC)– Senior Hamas political leader and acting PLC speaker Dr. Ahmad Bahar has welcomed on Thursday the EU parliament call on the EU member states to immediately lift the economic blockade on the Palestinian people.
Bahar also invited the EU countries to increase their financial assistance to the Palestinian people.
He also hailed Francis Wiertez the head of the leftist group in the EU parliament for calling on the EU states to swiftly recognize the PA unity government and to restore full relationship with it on all levels.
For Bahar the EU stands reflect good improvement in the EU positions towards the Palestinian question and the Palestinian people and serve as clear indications that the EU countries were recognizing results of the PA legislative elections that Hamas widely won last year.
In this regard Bahar called on all Palestinian factions and political parties to exploit the EU “encouraging” stands in consolidating their ranks and exerting more efforts to bail the Palestinian people out of the current financial crises.
