Mishaal appreciates Saudi efforts

RIYADH (PIC)– Khaled Mishaal the top Hamas leader on Wednesday appreciated the Saudi efforts in support of the Palestinian people and government during a meeting in Riyadh with King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz.

Hamas delegation sources attending the meeting said that Mishaal thanked the Saudi monarch for his and the Saudi political leadership’s efforts in bringing about the Makkah accord that furnished the way before formation of the PA unity government.

The sources noted that King Abdullah blessed the new PA government and welcomed the positive atmospheres that are prevailing in the Palestinian arena.

The monarch affirmed that his country would remain supportive of the Palestinian people and keen on its rights and efforts to end occupation.

Mishaal also met with the Saudi foreign minister prince Saud Al-Faisal for a discussion on latest Palestinian developments.

Hamas delegation’s visit to Saudi Arabia falls in line with a tour of a number of Arab Islamic and foreign countries that took the delegates so far to Syria Egypt Sudan Russia Malaysia Iran Yemen and Qatar..

The tour precedes the Arab summit scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia on March 28-29 during which the Palestinian delegation would be headed by PA chief Mahmoud Abbas and his premier Ismail Haneyya in practical implementation of the Palestinian political partnership and national unity.
