Massive civil defense exercises across Hebrew state on fears of possible attack

Tuesday 20-March-2007

GAZA (PIC)– Thousands of IOF troops policemen and civil defense workers were deployed Tuesday in different parts of the 1948-occupied Palestinian lands as part of Israel’s massive civil defense exercises with the aim to thwart any possible external attacks Hebrew media reported.

The exercises according to local and foreign observes came amidst talks on anticipated attack on Iran’s nuclear reactors which is widely supported by the Israel spurring Israeli fears of possible Iranian retaliatory attacks in the Israeli depth.

Sirens were intermittently heard across the Hebrew state in the framework of those training.

Last July sirens sounded across Israeli settlements in northern occupied Palestine during the July-August war that Israel waged on Lebanon sending hundreds of thousands of Israeli settlers into underground shelters for several days.

In Israeli settlements around the tiny Gaza Strip considerable numbers of IOF troops policemen and civil defense workers were also deployed to carry out the exercises.

“The exercises presume the worst scenario that could happen but it doesn’t mean that Israel is posing for another war” alleged Ephraim Sneih the deputy-war minister of Israel who supervises the maneuvers.

According to Israeli military sources the exercises were testing the degree of coordination between various wings of security apparatuses in the Hebrew state adding that lessons derived from the war on Lebanon will be taken into considerations.
