QALQILYA (PIC)– IOF troops in large numbers invaded the northern West Bank city of Qalqilya on Thursday afternoon following the wounding of a settler from the settlement of Zufin which is built on land confiscated from local Palestinians of Qalqilya.
A Palestinian security source told PIC that IOF troops mounting about 20 military vehicles invaded Qalqilya from the north and the east and started a wide scale combing operation after closing all roads leading to the city.
At the same time clashes between the invading forces and local youth erupted where Palestinian local youth belted the invading forces with stones and petrol bombs while the IOF troops replied with machine gunfire.
Zionist sources said that a Jewish settler was wounded Thursday afternoon by the gunfire of Palestinian resistance an IOF military roadblock to the east of the city.
Palestinian eyewitnesses said that Palestinian resistance fighters fired at the settler’s car on his way to a settlement in the vicinity wounding him. Ambulances rushed to the seen and carried the wounded settler to hospital and the resistance fighters managed to withdrew safely.
This attack comes after a number of Palestinian resistance groups warned that they will retaliate to the latest IOF atrocities in Nablus and Jenin.
