Mousa asks the world to lift the siege imposed on the Palestinian people

Sunday 18-February-2007

CAIRO (PIC)– The Arab League Secretary General Amre Mousa on Saturday asked the Arab governments and the world at large to lift the siege imposed on the Palestinian people almost a year now especially after formation of the Palestinian national unity government.

He said that the world should lift this siege immediately without further pretexts such as that a number of ministers in that government were affiliated with a certain faction stressing that the government must be supported.

Mousa told Al-Jazeera TV network that the Arabs would back the national unity government and urged the Israeli government to stop provocative acts such as the excavations at the Aqsa Mosque and the construction of new settlements in occupied Palestinian lands.
