Comprehensive strike in Nablus tomorrow to pressure Makkah meeting

NABLUS (PIC)– National and Islamic forces in the West Bank city of Nablus have called for a comprehensive strike in the city on Tuesday to pressure the meeting scheduled on that same day in Makkah Saudi Arabia between Hamas leader Khaled Mishaal and PA chief Mahmoud Abbas.

Hussam Hijawi the secretary of Nablus chamber of commerce and its representative in the follow up committee of all factions and forcers in the city said that the committee decided to call for an all-out strike to pressure the conferees in Makkah into approving an agreement on formation of a national unity government.

He said that infighting in the Palestinian arena had weakened the Palestine cause and the Palestinian national project.

The committee appealed to the leaders in Makkah also expected to include PA premier Ismail Haneyya to approve a deal that would return the Palestine cause to its deserved status at the topmost priority of all questions and to return Palestinian national cohesion Hijawi said.
