Over 10000 Palestinians living across the European continent are set to participate in the conference in a move aimed at reinforcing their deep-rooted commitment to their right of return and their motherland whatever the challenges.

Prominent figures are also expected to join the event namely the Moroccan Minister of Justice Chairman of Turkey’s Justice and Development Party Palestine’s Ambassador to Germany and Secretary General of the Palestine National Initiative along with European parliamentarians.

A variety of activities are to be performed during the conference including workshops on the situation of Palestinian refugees in Syria and folkloric exhibitions.

The event was met with strong criticism on the part of pro-Israel media. However Germany-based Jewish groups and pro-Palestine parties fired back at the protesting voices and expressed strong back-up of the conference.

The Conference of Palestinians in Europe which takes place annually in different European cities started in London in 2003 at the invitation of the Palestinian Return Center. Several Arab and European pro-Palestine officials have made an appearance in the conference ever since.
