Mutiny trend targets Gaza Mosques

Monday 29-January-2007

GAZA (PIC)– Hamas Movement has vowed to punish elements of the mutiny trend in Fatah faction that desecrated a number of Mosques in Gaza Strip and opened their machinegun fire at pious Muslims inside them.

Hamas’ pledge was uttered by the Movement’s spokesman in Khan Younis city Hammad Al-Rokob who affirmed that at least four local mosques were attacked by the Fatah hooligans.

“Palestinian mosques in Khan Younis were exposed to further treacherous attacks at the hands of the mutiny trend in Fatah faction which calls on the Palestinian people to block them at all costs” said Al-Rokob adding that Hamas will not let those aggressions pass unpunished.

Hamas also called on “prudent” figures in Fatah faction to bridle spokesmen and figures in the faction including the faction’s spokesman in the West Bank Jamal Nazzal and MP Azzam Al-Ahmad among other figures uttering unwarranted statements scorning Islam and its teaching.

A couple of days ago ten armed men of the mutiny trend stormed Al-Hedaya Mosque in Tel Al-Hawa suburb in Gaza city and killed four Muslims performing their Ishaa’ prayer.

The ugly incident shocked the Palestinian public and reminded them with the Ibrahimi Mosque massacre in 1994 where Israeli fanatic settler Baroch Goldstein killed and wounded tens of Palestinian citizens performing their Fajr (dawn) prayer in the Mosque.

Hamas retaliated to the Israeli massacre with a series of armed operations that killed and wounded hundreds of Israeli settlers.

Meanwhile the PA information minister deplored threats uttered by Nazzal against media apparatuses in Palestine considering such threats as “miserable attempt to block the truth and clear mouth puzzling on the part of Fatah”.

Nazzal threatened Al-Jazeera satellite TV channel and the Ma’an news agency with the aim to force the two media apparatuses bias in reporting news in favor of Fatah.
