Israeli military court adjourns Saadat trial for 3 months

Sunday 14-January-2007

RAMALLAH (PIC)– The Israeli military court in Ofer on Sunday adjourned the hearing into the case of PFLP secretary general Ahmed Saadat for three months after he renewed his refusal to recognize that court.

Saadat who was kidnapped along with others from his PA-run Jericho prison cell in March last year refused to stand up before the military judges.

In a written statement against the indictment list the PFLP leader stressed that the role of this court was to serve Israeli occupation of Palestine and that it lacked justice.

Mahmoud Hassan lawyer of Saadat tendered his resignation out of solidarity with Saadat’s refusal to recognize the court but the court refused the resignation.
