Thousands of Palestinians from Ramallah and al-Bireh laid to rest Maen Abu Qari and Hammad al-Sheikh on Saturday after the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) handed over their bodies last night.
“The funeral started from Ramallah hospital towards the martyrs’ hometowns before being buried” according to Quds Press “The funeral was attended by hundreds of Palestinians in addition to Palestinian factions’ representatives.”
The IOF handed over on Friday evening the bodies of the two Palestinian martyrs at al-Jib checkpoint northwest of Jerusalem.
Maen Abu Qari 23 was shot dead by Israeli soldiers near Ofer settlement last month at the pretext of carrying out a stabbing attempt.
Hammad al-Sheikh 21 was killed on December 14 of shot wounds after stabbing two Israeli police officers in the Old City in Jerusalem.
The IOF is still holding the bodies of nine martyrs who died in the Jerusalem intifada.
