A Jewish settler suffered minor injuries in an alleged stabbing attack on Friday night in the illegal settlement of Efrat south of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank.
The Israeli media said that the attacker believed to be a Palestinian young man infiltrated into the settlement through a nearby vineyard and stabbed a 50-year-old settler outside his house.
The wounded settler had injuries in his back and neck and was transferred to Shaare Zedek hospital in Occupied Jerusalem.
Investigations depended on the story of the settler because no one else witnessed the incident.
Afterwards a large number of military and security troops were dispatched to the scene and embarked on searching the area for the suspect.
Israeli military and security forces also encircled and stormed the nearby village of Wadi Rahhal where a vast tract of its land had been seized for the establishment of Efrat and carried out violent raids on its homes and stores.
They also launched a similar campaign in another nearby village called Mirah Rabah and set up a makeshift checkpoint at its main entrance where soldiers brutalized Palestinian passersby and checked their ID cards.
Several roadblocks and checkpoints were also established by the Israeli army and police on roads connecting towns of al-Khalil Bethlehem and Jerusalem as part of the search operation.
