Israeli army displaces 18 Bedouin families for military drills

Thursday 22-December-2016

The Israeli army on Wednesday displaced 15 Palestinian Bedouin families from their homes in Ibziq hamlet in the northern Jordan Valley.

A local activist reported that Israeli troops stormed with their military vehicles in the morning the area where the families live and forced them to leave in order to carry out drills.

The activist added that the families had to stay out in the cold until four o’clock in the evening before they were able to return to their homes.

The Israeli army frequently conducts live fire exercises after displacing many Bedouin families in the Jordan Valley and the central West Bank.

Many Palestinians including children have been injured or killed by unexploded ordnance left by the army during training.

The displacement of civilians firing of live ammunition explosions and road closures that take place during such drills are not reported by the Israeli and international media.
