Quds open university students in Jenin organized a rally on Saturday in solidarity with al-Hamor who is adamant to continue his hunger strike in Israeli jails.
Al-Hamor’s mother stated at the rally that her son is under a lot of pressure to end his hunger strike but is determined not to end it until he wins his freedom.
Ibrahim Marei stressed in a speech on behalf of the university’s students council the importance of achieving the Palestinian reconciliation and of doubling efforts to demand the release of Palestinian captives in Israeli jails.
For his part Raghib Abu Diak the director of the Palestinian Prisoners Society warned of an imminent explosion in the Israeli jails as a result of the Israeli occupation’s practices against them.
Al-Hamor who hails from Jaba’ village south of Jenin has been on hunger strike for 28 days in protest at his administrative detention without trial or charge.
