A delegation of senior Hamas officials met with head of the military intelligence branch in southern Lebanon Kheder Hamoud on Friday and discussed with him the security and social situation in the Palestinian refugee camps in the country.
In a press release issued following the meeting Hamas representative in Lebanon Ali Baraka underlined the importance of activating the channels of communication and coordination between the Palestinian factions and the Lebanese political and military authorities.
Baraka added that such meetings with senior Lebanese officials are important to promote the Palestinian-Lebanese relations and address all issues of mutual concern.
He affirmed that the Lebanese intelligence official voiced keenness on protecting the stability of Palestinian camps and gave reassurances in this regard.
The Hamas official also said that the delegation reiterated Hamas’s support for Lebanon’s security and stability stressing that it would not allow anyone to use the Palestinian refugee camps to undermine the civil peace in the country.
