Local and international institutions decided to launch an international campaign under the slogan “Justice must be served in Tal al-Rumeida” calling for opening the streets and neighborhoods of Tal al-Rumeida in al-Khalil.
Imad Abu Shamsieh coordinator of human rights activists said that the campaign aims to shed light on the suffering of the inhabitants of Tal al-Rumeida and al-Shuhadaa street in al-Khalil and the harassment they are exposed to by the Israeli occupation forces and Jewish settlers.
Abu Shamsieh pointed out that in cooperation with the Supreme Council of Churches the International Movement for Defense of Children the Hebron Rehabilitation Committee and Ibrahim al-Khalil society it was agreed to launch an international campaign calling for opening streets in the heart of al-Khalil and bringing life back to them.
In a press statement on Saturday Abu Shamsieh said that the campaign will continue for three days and include solidarity visits by foreign delegations to the houses of the Palestinian people in Tal al-Rumeida and al-Shuhadaa street.
Imad Hamdan director general of Hebron Rehabilitation Committee said that the Palestinian people in Tal al-Rumeida and al-Shuhadaa street in the heart of al-Khalil city are totally isolated and denied visits from their relatives and friends which allows the opportunity for the occupation and its settlers to expand their settlement outposts inside the city.
