March in Jenin to support hunger-striking prisoner

Friday 9-December-2016

Jaba town residents rallied after Friday prayer to support the Palestinian detainee Ammar al-Hamor who hails from Jaba and who has been on hunger strike for 20 days in a protest against his administrative detention in Israeli jails since last February.

Chairman of the Municipality of Jaba in Jenin province Bassam Jarrar called on the local and international institutions to stand with al-Hamor who decided to end his administrative detention in his own way.

The leader in the Islamic Jihad Sheikh Khader Adnan confirmed that the series of individual hunger strikes in the Israeli jails has a clear message that “administrative detention must end and that the Israeli occupation is not allowed to belittle the lives of the Palestinians.”

Al-Hamor’s family expressed concern about his condition especially as he is kept in solitary confinement.
