Fatah stresses commitment to give-and-take process with Israel

Fatah Movement stressed in a statement marking the end of its seventh conference on Sunday its commitment to peace talks with the Israeli occupation.

Fatah spokesman Mahmoud Abu al-Heija reiterated Fatah’s unyielding commitment to foster communication with the Israelis in favor of the peace process.

The group called for the need to activate international efforts in favor of the recognition of Palestine as an independent state after the UN 67/19 Resolution of 2012 granted it an observer state status.

Fatah Movement also pledged that the group’s Central Committee and Revolutionary Council would carry out reforms in the near future to encourage broader participation of young men and women.

Fatah movement underscored the importance of convening the Palestinian National Council within three months and published the list of elected members of Fatah’s Revolutionary Council and Central Committee.

Fatah movement stressed the need of achieving national reconciliation and the need to hold on to the Palestinian national constants.

Fatah Seventh Conference kicked off last Tuesday at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah and culminated in the re-election of Mahmoud Abbas as the group’s chairman.
