The Palestinian Union for People with Disabilities organized an event in Nablus on Saturday to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities that witnessed the participation of dozens of disabled people.
The event included a march that began from the headquarters of the Union and walked through the streets of the city before they staged a rally at al-Shuhada roundabout.
A spokesperson for the Union stressed in a speech that the disabled people need to take their full rights in the Palestinian society as provided by the laws.
He emphasized the Union’s demands concerning the disabled people’s rights of employment in both the government’s institutions and the private sector.
Annan al-Ateera the deputy governor of Nablus underscored the rights of the disabled people and the need to stand with their cause in addition to treating them just like the rest of the Palestinian people.
