The Israeli Jerusalem police on Saturday evening released the Palestinian groom-to-be Abdul Fattah al-Fakhouri after they arrested him just hours before his wedding ceremony.
30-year-old al-Fakhouri was arrested by the Israeli occupation police from his own family home in Bab Hitta in Jerusalem’s Old City hours before his wedding ceremony set to be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Lawyer Hamza Qteina said the occupation police accused the groom-to-be of chanting anti-occupation slogans during a pre-wedding party held on Friday.
Moments after the family wrapped up the party heavily-armed occupation soldiers showed up at the scene and searched the cameramen before they detained them and seized their cameras.
The family was forced to reschedule the marriage ceremony for Sunday.
