Dozens of Palestinians held in PA jails on political charges

Saturday 5-November-2016

The PA security forces continue their persecution policy against dozens of university students and ex-prisoners across the occupied West Bank.

In al-Khalil the two university students Youssef Shawer and Moemen Qawasma continue their hunger strike for 18 and 11 days respectively in protest against their unjustified political arrest.

Seven other students from al-Najah University are also held in PA jails for different periods of time. The seven political detainees were all subjected to similar arbitrary detention.

In Nablus the PA Preventive Security Service extended the detention of Odey Eid who was detained last Wednesday for 15 additional days.

Family sources also affirmed that the journalist Amar Asaad has been detained in PA jails for nine days pointing out that he spent more than 11 years behind Israeli bars.

In Tulkarem the PA Intelligence Service has been holding the two brothers Baraa and Yahya Sawi for 19 and 17 days respectively while ex-prisoner Bassel Abu Hajer has been detained for four days.

Along the same line PA security forces in Qalqilia are still holding the 15-year-old minor Nael Hussein in custody for more than a week for allegedly planning a stabbing attack.
