The Israeli Magistrate Court sentenced Tuesday two 19-year-old Jerusalemites to 12 months imprisonment on the charge of defending al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Jerusalem Committee for Families of Prisoners identified the two prisoners as Qusay Khalil and Ahmed Khalil.
Qusay was arrested on April 29 2016 for defending al-Aqsa and throwing stones at Israeli soldiers while Ahmed was detained from his family house on charge of defending al-Aqsa.
Several Palestinian minors have recently faced harsh sentences over stone-throwing charges.
In 2015 the Israeli Knesset overwhelmingly passed a new law that toughens punishment for Palestinians who are involved in stone-throwing incidents.
