Tens of thousands of Palestinian worshipers performed Fridayprayers at al-Aqsa Mosque amid very tight restrictions.
Israeli police forces were deployed since the early morning hours throughoutoccupied Jerusalem restricting Palestinians’ movement.
During Friday sermon preacher of al-Aqsa Mosque IsmailNawahda hailed UNESCO’s recent resolution over al-Aqsa considering it a stepin the right direction.
Nawahda also called for intensifying Palestinian presence in theMosque.
He then called on Arab and Islamic countries to assume their responsibilitytowards the holy shrine as it bears great significance and importance in Islam.
Al-Aqsa Mosque is purely Islamic and Palestinian andno one has the right to be our partner in it he said.
“We are the owners and we have the right to it. Only theMuslims have the right to the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Al-Buraq Wall and theAl-Buraq plaza which are purely Islamic Waqf property” according to Nawahda.
