Minor among several Palestinians kidnapped in West Bank sweep by IOF

Friday 14-October-2016

Several Palestinians were kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at dawn Friday in a mass abduction sweep launched across the West Bank.
The campaign targeted Hamas activists and anti-occupation protesters in the occupied West Bank.
Two Israeli soldiers were injured in a fire exchange with Palestinian resistance fighters in Qabatiya town in southern Jenin province.
The IOF attacked the Palestinian protesters with randomly-shot spates of bullet fire and teargas canisters sparking boiling tension in the area.
The IOF also wreaked havoc on civilian homes in Qabatiya’s eastern corners.
Palestinian youngster Ahmad Naji Abu Zalata was kidnapped from his own family home in the process.
Overnight heavily-armed Israeli troops were stationed on the local bypass road where Palestinian citizens and vehicles had been subjected to intensive inspection.
Meanwhile two Palestinians were kidnapped by the IOF while driving in Tayaseer town near Tubas on claims that they did not hold identity cards.
The Israeli soldiers further rolled into Nablus and kidnapped a Palestinian youngster from the Old City and another near the Askar refugee camp.
Armed anti-occupation protesters fired gunshots at Israeli army patrols after the latter stormed the Askar refugee camp to the east of Nablus.
The sweep culminated in the abduction of a 15-year-old minor identified as Mahdi al-Sheikh at a military checkpoint in northern Ramallah on allegations that he carried a knife.
