GAZA (PIC)– Commerce and industry chambers in Gaza Monday staged a sit-in at Beit Hanoun Crossing (Erez) in protest at Israeli policy of withdrawing permits from traders businessmen and industrialists.
The event was attended by heads and members of the commercial and industry chambers’ administration councils in addition to hundreds of Palestinians whose permits have been revoked and their companies banned from import.
Walid al-Husari head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Gaza said that Israeli authorities have withdrawn and revoked over 1500 permits and 160 BMC cards from businessmen and barred the entry of raw materials and basic goods into Gaza Strip.
Over 200 Gazan big firms were also forced to stop dealing with foreign trade and importing goods via Karm Abu Salem crossing he added.
