Friday 1-July-2016

ISTANBUL (PIC)– A number of Palestinian citizens and activists on Thursday performed the funeral prayer at Ataturk airport in Istanbul for two West Bank women who were killed in Tuesday’s bombing attack at the same airport ahead of their flight to Jordan in coffins.

Media sources said that the wounded husband of Nasrin Hammad one of the slain women led the funeral prayer at the airport.

For its part the Palestinian embassy in Ankara said that the bodies of Sundos Basha from Qalqilya and Nasrin Hammad from Araba town in Jenin would be flown to Jordan aboard a Turkish airliner at dawn Friday and would arrive on the same day in the West Bank.

The embassy added that its Palestinian counterpart in Amman and the Palestinian civil affairs committee would coordinate with the competent authorities in Jordan to secure the transport of the bodies to Palestine.

The embassy also said that five other Palestinian citizens are still in Turkish hospitals receiving treatment for injuries they sustained in the attack pointing out that two of them are in critical conditions.
