An electronic petition was launched by a group of persons with disabilities in Palestine to speak up for their right to equal employment opportunities.
The petition called for the need to restore the right of people with disabilities to work in government institutions at a percentage of no less than 5% of their overall staff members.
The petition launched on Avaaz web movement seeks to draw attention to the hardships faced by thousands of Palestinians with disabilities.
The petitioners urged all stakeholders NGOs and private sector institutions in Palestine to take action on the issue and grant the persons with disabilities the chance to become active members of the national workforce.
