Violent clashes with Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) erupted Wednesday afternoon in al-Nakkar neighborhood west of Qalqilya city resulting in suffocation among Palestinian protesters.
The clashes flared up as Wednesday was declared by Palestinian factions a day of anger against the US recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
Local sources told the PIC reporter that the youths in Qalqilya were engaged in violent clashes with Israeli soldiers who were stationed at a military point in the neighborhood.
The IOF opened gunfire and intensively unleashed tear gas canisters at the protesters leading to breathing problems among many of them. Some of IOF tear gas grenades were fired at Palestinian homes as well.
