Palestinian sick prisoner appeals for saving his life

Monday 18-December-2017

The Palestinian sick prisoner Murad Abu Meilek who is from Gaza Strip and held in Beersheba Israeli jail appealed for saving his life from Crohn’s disease from which he has been suffering since 2008.

In a letter from prison detainee Abu Meilek said that he has been complaining of severe ulcers and infections in the digestive system especially the intestines. Two meters have been cut from his bowel due to deliberate medical negligence in the prison clinic.

He pointed out that he has been prescribed to be injected with Remicade every 8 weeks. The prison management however has been stalling in providing him with the due dose. As a result he was transferred to hospital where he stayed for two weeks.

The sick captive highlighted that over a month has passed since the due date of the injection because of the policy of medical negligence pursued in Beersheba jail. Thus he has been struggling with severe pain that might lead to removing more of his digestive system he warned.
