Sheikh Tamim bin Khalifa Al Thani Emir of Qatar reiterated during a telephone conversation on Thursday with Ismail Haneyya head of Hamas’s political bureau his country’s rejection of the US recognition of Occupied Jerusalem as an Israeli capital.
According to Haneyya’s office the conversation between the two sides focused on the US declaration over Jerusalem and what could be done to deal with such serious development as well as the inter-Palestinian reconciliation process.
Sheikh al-Thani briefed Haneyya on the contacts he conducted with heads of state including US president Donald Trump.
The Qatari Emir expressed his rejection of the US step and his strong support for the Palestinian people at this delicate stage describing the issue of Jerusalem as “the fate of the entire Muslim nation.”
