The Israeli occupation police on Sunday afternoon prevented and brutalized photographers and photojournalists from holding an open day for taking photos of Palestinian citizens in Bab al-Amud area of Jerusalem.
One of the organizers said that police troops chased all participants in the open day and violently forced them to leave the area without providing an explanation for such measure.
The open day called “You will photograph well in Jerusalem” was organized by groups of photographers in order to invite local citizens to come to Bab al-Amud to take free photos and to encourage public interaction with the idea of photography.
The police forces also prevented photojournalists from staying in Bab al-Amud to cover the event violently dealt with them and threatened to beat them and break their legs.
Police officers also embarked on photographing the participants and the photojournalists and threatened them to use their photos to target and prosecute them.
Later police elements intercepted Palestinian young citizens in Bab al-Amud and maltreated and searched them.
