Israeli army razes memorial to Palestinian martyr in al-Khalil

Thursday 16-November-2017

The Israeli occupation army on Wednesday removed a memorial to Palestinian martyr Farouk Seder in al-Khalil city claiming the measure was part of its campaign against incitement.

Fadi Seder the martyr’s brother said that an Israeli bulldozer escorted by soldiers demolished the memorial standing outside the house of the family in Qizun area of al-Khalil city one day after ordering his family to remove it.

Seder affirmed that his family would have another memorial to his brother built in response to its demolition accusing the Israeli occupation authority of trying to erase anything reminding it of its crime against his brother and to weaken the family’s morale.

Seder was shot dead by soldiers in late October 2015 in al-Shuhada street in al-Khalil on allegations of his attempt to carry out a stabbing attack.

The removal of Seder’s memorial was part of a systematic Israeli policy of dismantling and razing monuments and mourning tents for Palestinians killed by Israeli forces.
