Israel’s Channel 2 said that premier Benjamin Netanyahu failed to refute accusations leveled against him by police interrogators questioning him last Thursday.
The channel quoted an informed source as saying that the police within a month would finish sorting the investigation documents on Case 1000 into a file before submitting a recommendation for an indictment to be filed against Netanyahu.
Case 1000 is related to claims that Netanyahu and his family received bribes from businessmen in exchange for providing them with special services.
The source added that another file on Netanyahu’s contacts with the owner of Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper would be prepared as a prelude to recommending another indictment against him.
As for the corruption investigation into the submarine affair known as Case 3000 the police said they would not interrogate Netanyahu but they would continue to question two of his aides.
