The Palestinian consensus government affirmed on Tuesday taking full responsibility over the taxation departments at Gaza crossings ( Rafah and Karm Abu Salem) in coordination with Bank of Palestine which represents the Finance Ministry.
In an exclusive press statement to the PIC on Tuesday the Spokesman of Crossing Authority Hesham Udwan expected that official takeover of the crossings will start from November 1st with the presence of the Authority’s Director Nathmi Muhanna along with his delegation.
Hussein al-Sheikh Head of Civil Affairs Authority and Palestinian Crossing and Borders Authority said that starting from November 15th 2017 Rafah crossing will function normally the way it used to prior to June 4th 2007 with full cooperation of the Egyptian authorities and all related parties.
An Egyptian delegation including Ambassador Sami Murad and Brigadier General Hammam Abu-Zeid from the intelligence services along with other security officials arrived in Gaza on Tuesday to attend Gaza crossings takeover ceremony.
