Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya has applauded the historical and brotherly ties between Palestine and Egypt saying that the departure of a high-level delegation from his Movement for Cairo was a reflection of the strong relations between the two peoples.
Haneyya made his remarks on Monday afternoon during his participation in the funeral of Umm Akram Hasanain an Egyptian woman and the mother of Palestinian prisoner Hazem Hasanain.
In a speech before the funeral prayer the Hamas leader said that the relations between the Palestinian and Egyptian peoples are based on a common fate and mutual interests.
“We are bidding farewell to a woman who was a patient mother struggler and teacher and spent a long life on the blessed land of Palestine after she came from Egypt” Haneyya said hailing Umm Akram.
“She is the mother of two heroes al-Qassam martyr Akram Hasanain and prisoner Hazem Hasanain” he added.
